DSE to introduce price-weighted index

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) will introduce price-weighted index replacing the existing value-weighted one aiming to show actual performance of the stocks. Price weighted index is a stock index in which each stock influences the index in proportion to its price per share. While the value weighted index is a stock index in which each stock affects the index in proportion to its market value. The DSE, the country's prime bourse, has formed a committee to prepare the index.
