The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is going to introduce a format of agreement to ensure equal rights to both the brokers and the authorised representatives (ARs).
Member of SEC Muhammad Yasin Ali disclosed this while speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day training jointly organised by the SEC and the CSE for authorised representatives in the city Monday, said a press release.
Vice President of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) Al-Maruf Khan presided over the inaugural function.
Terming ARs the first interface between brokers and investors, Mr Ali asked the ARs to acquire adequate knowledge of stock market and its rules and regulations.
He said, "This certificate gives ARs the right to access to the capital market."
Mr Ali said, "There is no standard agreement between brokers and authorised representatives. Now the Commission is going to compel an adequate format of agreement to ensure the equal weight and rights to fair play of both the brokers and the authorised representatives."
"Within a few years the entry in the capital market will not be so easy and ultimately the market requirements will go to those who are skilled, efficient and rapid," he mentioned.
"To fit in the capital market there is no way but to learn the rules and regulations relating to their jobs", he added.
Mr Ali hopes that within next five years all the members of Bangladesh capital market will be proud to be active members of the market.
Mr Khan said that the ARs should take the equal responsibilities for complying with stock exchange and Commission with the members.
He added that the ARs should be aware on confidentiality and market rumours. He also laid emphasis on studying more and more to develop career in the capital market.
Assistant General Manager of CSE Mohammad Monirul Haque and Assistant Manager Shahidullah coordinated the training sessions.
A total of 64 ARs of CSE Members' company took part in the training, the release added.
